Student Insurance is a basic accident and acute illness policy.  The $11.20 fee is automatically assessed to all full time students on the Natchitoches or Shreveport campus.  INTERNET CLASSES do not count towards full time status.  This is not a major medical policy.  Student insurance is effective 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on and off campus.  The policy covers:

• 80% of ambulance transport, $500. max.
• 80% of ER expenses up to $500.00
• limited room and board for 5 days
• accidental death and dismemberment benefits
• repatriation and medical evacuation benefits

Also available directly from the insurance agency are:

• optional spouse and/or dependent coverage
• optional major medical insurance
• travel assist and student assist services
